Team Services started where a lot of good things start: around a kitchen table.
In 2007, our founder, Jim Fletcher, a veteran of the maritime industry, set out to build something with two goals in mind. He wanted to bring genuine quality to the customers he served, and he wanted to bring opportunity to people who might not otherwise have it. He started with five employees and a belief that work done the right way, by people who are treated the right way, would speak for itself.
Nearly two decades later, that belief still runs everything we do. We’ve grown from that table to a team serving the Gulf Coast from Pensacola to Corpus Christi, and in 2021 the next generation—Jim’s daughters and their husbands—took the reins to carry his legacy forward.
Values that were handed down—and earned
Jim instilled three values in us from the beginning: trust, accountability, and respect. We carry those into every relationship, with our customers and with each other, and they’re the reason so many of those relationships have lasted for the long haul.
The principles our crews work by every day—being humble, being respectful, and working with integrity—were defined by our frontline people, the men and women actually doing the work. That matters. It means our culture isn’t handed down as a slogan; it’s owned by the people who live it on the job. When a new teammate joins us, their very first day is spent on exactly that: who we are, how we operate, and what we expect of one another. By the time they meet their trainer and their supervisor, it’s already clear that all of us are pulling in the same direction.
An extension of your operation
Before we ever build a crew, we work to understand a customer’s business, their culture, and their work ethic. We learn how they actually do things, so that the team we develop fits their operation rather than them having to adapt to ours. We integrate their processes with our own. The goal is simple—when our people are out in the field, the work gets done just as the customer would do it themselves.

The Team Services logo may be on our shirts, but in every way that counts, we’re an extension of your team. Our customers feel like we’re one of them, and we feel like they’re one of us. That’s not an accident. It’s the whole point.
Communication is the work, safety is The outcome
In our industry, communication isn’t a soft skill—it’s a core activity, and it’s what keeps everyone safe.
Every day starts with planning meetings that look across the entire company. Every job begins with a start-work meeting, where we walk through all the actions and all the people involved to make sure we’re aligned before anyone lifts a finger. And the most important conversation we have is also the simplest: stop-work. Every single member of our team is empowered, from day one, to stop a job the moment something doesn’t feel right—so we can pause, reevaluate, realign, and proceed safely.
We may all carry different job titles. But in every position, we’re all risk managers.
A people company, first and last
Ask us what we do and the honest answer is that we’re a people company. Our focus is our team, and our highest measure of a successful day is that everyone goes home safely to their families and friends.

That focus shapes everything upstream of the job site. We do our best for our people so that they can do their best for the people who depend on them. And family, for us, isn’t only about safety—it’s about celebrating wins together, helping teammates grow and chase new opportunities both inside and outside the company, and being a foundation and a soft landing when life gets hard, whether that’s a storm rolling through or something happening at home.
We invest in that growth deliberately. For those new to the trade, our apprenticeship program pairs them with seasoned tankermen for hands-on training, alongside tankerman school at our own offices. For experienced mariners, we provide ongoing, dedicated training and computer-based education that keeps everyone current on best practices and Coast Guard compliance, right down to the Merchant Mariner credential. The aim is always the same: to give our crews the credentials, skills, and confidence to grow professionally and work safely.
Choosing family
When you choose Team Services, you’re choosing family. You’re choosing a partner who learns your business well enough to integrate seamlessly into it, so you can trust your operations and stay focused on your own customers and your own success. We do the work right the first time, just as you want it done, with highly trained and vetted employees and an unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence.
We’re the team behind your team. And we don’t take that lightly.
